About Us

In 2017, we moved to the heart of the French countryside in Hautes-Pyrénées with a mission to join our diverse backgrounds to create an unequalled learning experience that combines the best of language teaching methods with homegrown food and hospitality.

Spend a day with us for lessons,  join us for an evening for summer dinner alfresco or stay for a week of intensive learning with your family at our home nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees.

You will come away refreshed, relaxed and a step further up the learning ladder.

Jason Riley 

In 1991 I started my teaching career in a college in Vichy, France. For over 25 years I have been a language teacher in London, specialising in teaching French as a foreign language and developing literacy skills in English at all levels of learning from primary school to teaching adults.

 My students enjoy improving their linguistic skills as I provide a lighthearted yet focused approach to lessons using the latest technologies whilst in a comfortable classroom in my home. 

 Your learning experience will be based on your unique needs combined with my expertise and guidance and a healthy dose of laughter.

 Owen Hylton

Overseeing Aubèrga Estelada, our table and chambre d’hôte business, is my passion and the culmination of my 3 decades of hospitality experience. After working in and running kitchens both big and small at some of the most notable hotels in London including The Dorchester and The Bulgari, I always longed for a small business in France.  

 Now, I am able to use the freshest local produce and sustainably sourced meats to serve to our guests. The Hautes- Pyrénées is a beautiful agricultural area of France. Armagnac, Fois Gras and Truffles rival the freshest local vegetables for space on our table. I create seasonal menus paired with local wines for our guests. 

 With so much to do in our area, my only challenge is to make sure my guests show up for dinner. I find if they come and dine with us once, they always come back.
